Sent fortnightly. Written by Ben. Easy to leave at any time.
The format
One letter. One useful idea.
Each issue develops one subject with the depth it needs. Some begin with a question. Others with a principle, a real moment or something I have changed my mind about.
Scenario
A recognisable athlete decision explored with more context than a short social post allows.
Principle
A coaching belief, why it matters and what it may change.
Reflection
Something learned or reconsidered through coaching, training or racing.
Athlete story
A permissioned or responsibly anonymised moment used to illuminate a decision.
Example subjects
Questions worth carrying into the next session.
The session is prescribed. Should you still do it?
When consistency means doing less.
Your training week is not a compliance score.
How fast should feel in February.
Why email
Coaching decisions rarely fit into a caption.
The useful part is often the context: what the goal requires, what the athlete is experiencing, which trade-off matters and what could change the answer.
You do not need to be coached by me to find the letter useful. It is for committed athletes who want to understand more, ask better questions and make more purposeful decisions.
Ben
A useful email relationship, with clear boundaries.
Replies go to ben@coach-ben.co.uk. A reply does not create emergency or individual coaching support, but genuine questions and scenarios are welcome.
You can unsubscribe at any time. But I hope you don't.
